Upgrade Fedora 43 to Fedora 44

Upgrade

  • Update Fedora 43:
    sudo dnf upgrade --refresh
  • Reboot.

  • Install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade if not installed:

    sudo dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade
  • Download Fedora 44 packages:

    sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=44
  • Start upgrading. This will reboot your machine:

    sudo dnf5 offline reboot
  • Wait until upgrading finish.

Clean-up

Update system config files

Install rpmconf if the command does not exists:

sudo dnf install rpmconf

Run rpmconf:

sudo rpmconf -a

Clean-up retired packages

Install remove-retired-packages if the command does not exists:

sudo dnf install remove-retired-packages

Remove retired packages

remove-retired-packages
